National Junior Honor Society

Holy Family has been an active member of the National Junior Honor Society for many years. The NJHS was founded in 1929 to promote the ideals of scholarship, character, service, leadership, and citizenship.

Candidates must be in the 7th or 8th grade and are required to hold a 90% grade point average for the first three semesters of the year they intend to apply. The candidates are also required to earn 15 hours of community service and must maintain at least a “B” average in conduct. A very special and formal ceremony is held in the church in April to induct all candidates who have met all the requirements.

During the school year, members of the NJHS take part in service projects to maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection. Past activities performed by the Holy Family chapter include participating in the Salvation Army Christmas fundraising, collecting supplies for our troops, and sponsoring an Easter egg hunt for our church community.
