Meet Mr. Ernstberger

Hello, everyone! I joined the Holy Family faculty in 1994 and I truly enjoy and feel blessed to have the opportunity to work in a school that feels like home. The students and their parents, faculty and staff, and parishioners of Holy Family have been very gracious to me, and I have learned so much from them. I am especially proud of the many accomplishments of our students and faculty!

I was born in southern Indiana and attended Holy Trinity Elementary School in New Albany and Providence High School in Clarksville. I enjoyed playing sports, especially baseball and football, and in high school I was very active in the music and theatre programs which led me to Butler University and a degree in Music Education.

I returned to Providence and served as choral music and band director. Two of my favorite activities were the Christmas Concert and Spring Musical. Before coming to Holy Family, I served as Assistant Principal and Director of Students at Trinity High School. That position had many rewards, one of which was that I got to walk the sidelines of the hallowed Trinity vs. St. X football games!

I have a wonderful family. My wife, Mindy, is also a Catholic school principal at Providence Jr/Sr High School, our alma mater. We have two lovely children! Jon currently works at Holy Family and is taking additional coursework at IU Southeast. Leah is a student at Butler University, but this spring she is studying at the international business school in Nantes, France. We also have a beautiful daughter-in-law, Ashley, who is currently interviewing for veterinary school. We have been members of Holy Family Parish since 1990.

On weekends, I serve as one of the liturgical musicians here at Holy Family Church.
I love to fish, cook, travel, read and watch movies. I used to play golf and still enjoy it, but getting to play is a rarity these days. I also enjoy rooting for my favorite teams – Holy Family Eagles, Providence Pioneers, Butler U. Bulldogs, and the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals!
