The month of November is a season for endings and beginnings, for reflection and giving thanks. Last week we prayed for all Saints of the Kingdom as well as the Souls of the faithful departed. This week we honor veterans and all those who serve to protect our country and our world.
Later in the month, we remember our founding fathers and mothers for their sacrifices to give birth to this wonderful continent of North America. Thanksgiving is a special occasion for family, prayer and celebrating the harvest. Please take time to share and give thanks!
Finally, we close the month with the Feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday of the 2011 Church year, and follow it with the First Sunday of Advent, the opening of the 2012 Church calendar. Of special note this year is the application of the changes to the Roman Missal and Mass settings. This will officially begin on November 26th; cards have been designed and will be available in the pews reflecting the changes. Fr. Dan and Mrs. Jeannine have been preparing us for these changes in text and musical settings at weekend Masses.
3-4th Parent Breakfast – Tomorrow, Wednesday, November 9th beginning at 7:30.
Veterans Mass, Program and Reception for all school and parish families – this Friday, Nov. 11th.
Principal’s Night In – November 14th – for all families new to the school and pre-school as well as all parishioner families who have children attending other schools.
Q and A, vouchers, and time for fellowship and a parenting workshop provided by Michelle Adams are all in store. Please come 6:30 – 8:00 in church. See you there!
