2014-15 Year-end Notes from the Principal

Congratulations to the Class of 2015, our 61st graduating class, as the joined the ranks of our alumni! The class distinguished themselves in many ways both collectively and individually.  A special thanks goes to them for their commitment to serving our parish and school liturgies as musicians, cantors, lectors and servers, and we also appreciate the hundreds of hours of community service they performed!  We hope our grads will continue to carry their spiritual values, commitment to community service, and leadership in academics, co- and curricular activities throughout their high school years!

It is with mixed emotions that we bid a fond farewell to several Holy Family staff members who are retiring or moving on to other career ventures.  Among them are teachers, Mrs. Kellie Fansler, Mr. Bernie Day, Ms. Caitlin Veling, Mrs. Joann Merten, and Mrs. Jean Moss  (Mrs. Moss leaves her 1B classroom and is moving to a part-time position and will be teaching elementary level technology classes and assisting Mrs. Cooper with tech coordination and standardized testing.)   In addition, staff members Michelle Watson, Alex Rodmaker, Brandi Monks, and Peyton Ross will not be returning.  We thank them for their service to Holy Family and wish for each of them the best in their future endeavors!

While we are still in the hiring process, I’m pleased to welcome new staff members, Ms. Rachel Gish, 3-4th grade English Language Arts Teacher, 3A homeroom (added 6/25), Brittany Akers, HFS ’00, K-8 Aftercare Director, Cara Farmer, HFS ’06, First Grade Teacher, and Theresa Shaw, HFP Coordinator of Religious Education, Pre-school/Childcare Assistant. May each of you meet with great success and many blessings at Holy Family!  Interviews continue for the other announced positions; interested candidates should apply immediately.

Summer work projects are in full swing, as the Library and Music room make-overs are proceeding nicely as well as the summer cleaning of the classrooms, hallways and offices.  Many school families picked up their registration packets after the Masses the last two weekends.  Remaining packets are being mailed this week; please read all info and complete your registration!

As we put an end-note on the 2014-15 school year, I would like to thank Father Dan, the parish staff, all parishioners and volunteers for the wonderful support we receive to operate Holy Family School!  Finally, on behalf of the faculty and staff, thanks to you, our parents, for choosing Holy Family and for actively engaging in your child’s Catholic education!

We look forward to the coming year, so mark your calendar for July 22nd, Orientation night and July 29th, first day of school for 2015-16.

Peace to all,

Jerry Ernstberger
