Definition of a grad at grad

In the following areas, a Holy Family Catholic School graduate at the time of graduation will exhibit the following qualities, have been taught the following lessons, or will be exposed to the following in the areas below:



Scholarship:

  • Will establish clear academic goals for high school
  • Will excel to the best of their ability in courses that challenge them
  • Will be knowledgeable about other countries, and international matters
  • Will have a clear understanding of their personal abilities and learning style



  • Christian Service:

  • Will be encouraged to develop a willingness and eagerness to serve anyone in need without prompting or reward
  • Will lead a service project
  • Will have completed an annual  service project during each year of attendance
  • Will be made aware of  those in need locally, nationally, and internationally



  • Character:

  • Will be taught through discipline and modeling good Christian character traits
  • Will demonstrate respect for God, self and others
  • Will have an appreciation and respect of the laws of our nation and freedoms of America
  • Will be able to withstand peer pressure in bad situations



  • Catholic Identity:

  • Will have an understanding of the doctrine and sacraments of the Catholic faith
  • Will learn to respect life from conception to grave
  • Will encourage his/her family to attend  worship services
  • Will fully participate in Mass
  • Will grow in their faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ
  • Will be personally responsible for their journey of faith through study, journaling, Mass attendance, and prayer
  • Will articulate and practice faith



  • Leadership:

  • Will be a problem solver
  • Will lead the school family groups
  • Will be confident in speaking in front of groups
  • Will respond to opportunities to lead in extracurricular activities



  • Health and Wellness:

  • Will learn about the importance of exercise and healthy eating and lifestyle
  • Will be given the tools and resources to lead a healthy lifestyle
  • Will learn coping strategies for dealing with emotional wellness
  • Will understand the harmful effects of and reject the use of  tobacco, drugs, and alcohol
  • Will be taught to respect their God-given  human sexuality within a Christian context
  • Will be prepared to handle a schedule, prioritize and have good time management giving them the ability to balance academic and social life.
