Awards

The Athletic Board presents the “Eagle Award” to a male and female athlete.  Along with the trophy, the student receives a $500 scholarship and their names will be engraved on the plague with past “Eagles”.

EAGLE AWARD ELIGIBILITY: In order for the student to be eligible, the 8^th grade student must have achieved the following requirements; the student athlete will participate in at least two sports each year in grades 5 thru 8, while maintaining an average grade of 90% or higher and a B+ or higher in conduct with no failing grades.  In addition to these requirements the student will demonstrate athletic ability, sportsmanship, and leadership while, on & off the field and in & out of the classroom.  The recipients must exhibit a positive attitude and conduct themselves maturely when interacting with adults, peers, teammates, and opponents.

Selection Process: The candidates are selected, from the eligible list by members of the Athletic Board, Junior High Coaches, PE, Technology, and the 5th – 8th Grade Homeroom Teachers.

FRANK U. ZOELLER AWARD ELIGIBILITY

Head coaches for each sport offered selects an outstanding 8^th grade participant who gives 110% effort to the sport, is a team player, and is committed to the sport.

DONALD SPELLMAN AWARD ELIGIBILITY

Head coaches for the boys and girls 7^th and 8^th grade basketball teams select an outstanding 8^th grade participant exhibiting leadership and sportsmanship in the game of basketball.
