History
Holy Family school opened its doors in August 1954 with the help of the Providence Nuns. Sister Paul, the Superior at the time, taught fifth and sixth grades. Sister Mary Anselm taught seventh and eighth grade. Sister Rose Imelda taught third and fourth grades and Sister Marie Justin taught first and second grades. There were 188 students total in all eight grades. In 1960 the first school addition was completed. In 1965 the Parish Hall now known as Marchino Hall was completed and in 1994 the school addition which connected the school and gym was dedicated. In 2000-2001 Holy Family was named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. In 2004- 2005 Holy Family received a similar award as a No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School. Holy Family is a member of the North Central Association and is fully accredited by the State of Indiana with exemplary status. In August 2006, Holy Family launched a new Pre-School and Childcare ministry program for children ages three through five. Now there are over 300 children enrolled at Holy Family School.
