Our Lady of Providence Jr.-Sr. High School is offering an after school STEM Club for students in the New Albany Deanery in grades one to nine interested in science, technology, engineering and/or math. A Family STEM Camp also will be offered on Saturday mornings, for a parent and up to two children. Cost for the after school STEM Club is $15 for all five sessions. The after school STEM Club is grouped by grade and will meet from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at Providence:
First through third grade – 9/5, 9/26, 10/24, 11/7, 11/28
Fourth through sixth grade – 9/19, 10/17, 10/31, 11/14, 12/5
Seventh through ninth grade – 9/7, 9/28, 10/26, 11/9, 11/30.
The Family STEM Camp will be held at Providence on the following Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon: 9/9, 9/23, 10/21 and 10/28. Participants will include a parent and one or two of his/her children. Cost is $60 per person for all four sessions. Activities include fossil hunting; writing computer code; designing, building, and testing structures; and fun with math.
Pre-registration for the after school club and the parent-child camp will open on Monday, August 14, at 6:00 a.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis. Space is limited, and spots fills up fast.
